Stephen P. Smith, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Smith is a fourth-generation central Ohio surgeon. After graduating from The Columbus Academy, he studied Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. During his time in Philadelphia, Dr. Smith focused on studying the concepts and practice of design, and received a minor in Art History.
Dr. Smith graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2001, and served as Chapter President of the AOA Medical Honor Society. Following a one-year surgical internship at Mt. Carmel Health in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Smith completed an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he received the Medical Director's Citizenship Award. During residency, Dr. Smith’s artistic background drew him to a career in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He went on to complete a fellowship of The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Latham, NY, with Edwin F. Williams, III, MD, an international leader in the field.
